A factory packs bars of soap and bottles of shampoo into cartons. For every 3 bars of soap packed, 5 bottles of shampoo are packed. Each bar of soap has a mass of 120 g and each bottle of shampoo has a mass of 200 g. The cartons packed in one day held 27.2 kg of soap and shampoo altogether. How many bottles of shampoo were packed that day?
Show the step-by-step solution
- 1 group = 3 bars of soap and 5 bottles of shampoo
- soap in 1 group = 3 × 120 = 360
- shampoo in 1 group = 5 × 200 = 1000
- mass of 1 group = 360 + 1000 = 1360
- total mass in grams = 27.2 × 1000 = 27200
- number of groups = 27200 ÷ 1360 = 20
- bottles of shampoo = 5 × 20 = 100
Ans: 100
