Angles around a clock point

Use the smaller angle between the hour and minute hands.

A clock face shows 4 o'clock. Find the smaller angle between the hour hand and the minute hand.

  1. 1 sector = 360° ÷ 12 = 30° (the 12 equal hours round the face)
  2. smaller angle = 4 × 30° = 120° (four sectors of the full turn)

Ans: 120°
